Expandable Operating Theatres

MCC Group has executed mobile hospital projects in over 15 countries throughout the world focusing on helping armies and governments deal with the following challenges:

  • Natural disasters
  • Tsunami / Floods
  • Earthquakes
  • Population displacement
  • Disease Control
  • Peacekeeping
  • Anti-terror
  • Demonstrations
  • Multi-purpose modular systems can be relocated easily

MCC Group focuses on the most fundamental conditions to ensure effective operation of our mobile hospitals:

  1. Speed of deployment
  2. Overcoming obstacles (physical and logistical) in the deployment area
  3. Durability during transportation, unloading and general use
  4. Independency of vital units during first minutes following disaster / warfare
  5. Level of human engineering

We believe, and our customers have agreed, that a mobile hospital should be totally independent, and that the vital units should be able to operate as a stand-alone unit at the scene of a disaster or emergency before the other support units arrive.

The expandable units should be deployable and ready for use within 2 minutes for opening and another 10 minutes for starting full operation.

Each expandable unit contains a technical room that houses:

  • Generator
  • Electric system for opening the container
  • Pressure pump
  • Water tank
  • A/C unit
  • Fan and suction opening in the unit
  • Gas cylinder area – side opening and separate safety wall
  • Electricity board
  • Electric sink in the scrub area with hip activation
  • UPS – can work in an emergency situation
  • The strong air conditioning units that flow via laminar ceiling above the operating table, provide a positive pressure inside the unit while the HEPA filters ensure that the air being pumped through the unit is kept clean.
